Production Processes and Products
We use a 5,000 kg. arc furnace, a 5,000 kg. AOD converter furnace and 8 induction furnaces with a capacity of 1,000 - 3,000 kg.
To be in a position to offer our customers the widest possible range of castings and best solutions, AMPO has 4 production lines, each of which uses the most advanced technologies so that we can satisfy all customer requirements.
There is a description of these lines below, with examples of the castings that each produce. We can supply a fully-machined range of all our products, depending on customer needs.

As Cast Tubes
A casting process using a metal die which spins at high speed. Once the melt is in the die, the centrifugal force shapes the solidifying steel to the structure of the mould. We have facilities for both horizontal and vertical spinning. Horizontal spinning covers 100 - 450 mm. external diameter and vertical spinning 430 - 815 mm.
Horizontal Centrifugal Spinning
We machine and fi nish all types of parts with revolution geometries, from centrifugal tubes, balls, seats, sleeves, rings, valve bodies and sides etc. We start with cast dimensions adjusted to the fi nished required measurements, in order to reduce weight and be in a position to offer our customers more competitive products. “We produce a range of tubes with an external diameter of between 100 mm and 500 mm, and lengths of between 1990 mm and 3300 mm. The maximum weight which can be obtained is 2400 kilos.”
Vertical Centrifugal Spinning
We have 3 vertical machines, capable of making rings with external diameters
of between 430mm and 1300mm, and balls from DN300 (12”) to DN750 (30”).
Balls from 2” to 36”
Excellent surface fi nishes and very precise geometries allow us to use our spheres in floating and trunnion ball valves, soft-seated and metalseated.
